Broth and Green Beans

  • ½ cup chicken broth divided
  • 12 ounces fresh green beans

Seasoning

  • 1-¼ teaspoons salt divided
  • ½ teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika

Chicken and Oil

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil or avocado oil
  • 4-5 pieces boneless, skinless chicken thighs

Butter Sauce

  • 2 teaspoons minced garlic about 4 cloves
  • 1 lemon juiced
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 3 tablespoons butter

Garnishes

  • fresh parsley optional
  • fresh dill optional
  • lemon slices optional
  • extra red pepper flakes optional

Instructions
 

Cooking Instructions

  • Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add ¼ cup chicken broth and fresh green beans. Cover and cook for 5 minutes to steam. Remove lid, cook another 2-3 minutes to cook out the liquid. Transfer the green beans to a bowl and set aside.
  • Combine 1 teaspoon salt, pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika in a small dish.
  • Pat dry the chicken thighs and season generously on both sides with the seasoning blend.
  • Add oil to the skillet over medium-high heat. When glistening, add chicken thighs and cook for 5-7 minutes per side until done. Transfer chicken to the plate with green beans.
  • Turn heat to medium and deglaze the pan with remaining ¼ cup chicken broth, scraping up stuck bits.
  • Add garlic, lemon juice, ¼ teaspoon salt, and red pepper flakes. Simmer over low heat until sauce reduces by half. Mix in butter and cook another 1-2 minutes.
  • Add chicken and green beans back into the pan, gently mix with sauce, and let reheat for about 2-3 minutes if needed.
  • Serve with fresh lemon slices, chopped parsley, dill, and extra red pepper flakes if desired.

Notes

For crispy chicken, pat dry well before cooking. Ensure chicken is flat in the pan for quicker cooking. Chicken is done when internal temperature is 165°F.
